Kaden's 2 Year Appt.

Well, today Dustin took Kaden in for his 2 year appointment. I was off by 2 inches for Kaden's height. WOW! He is 37 inches tall which puts him in the 95% for kids his age. HE IS BIG!! His weight puts him at 80%. He is following in Daddy's footsteps apparently.

Kaden's B-Day party was a lot of fun and he got a kick out of seeing Mickey Mouse EVERYWHERE!! Here are a few of the pictures from his special day.

Happy 2nd Birthday Kaden

Kaden's Day of Birth. February 19th, 2008. 8# 8oz., 21 inches long.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KADEN!!!
WOW! I can't believe that today is the start of the third year of your life. You are 2 years old today. Time sure flies when you are having fun. This past year has been an amazing year, as you have come around into your own little person, and even though at times I have wanted to rip my hair out, I wouldn't have changed a thing!!
Daddy and I have decided that our goal is to get you potty trained starting on your 2nd birthday...so GET READY!! You have already gone on the potty a couple of times, but it isn't consistent. You know how to say "potty" and "poop", so now we just have to work on teaching you to go to the potty chair instead of in your diaper.
Right now you have 10 teeth on both the top and bottom. You weight 31# 9oz and are 35 inches long.

In this past year:
You managed to completely break mommy's laptop by playing with the plug where it gets the power from. You also stuck your tongue on our screen door when it was below freezing and then pull away causing the skin to tear and your tongue to bleed.
You learned how to crawl in and out of your crib, although you have NEVER done it when you weren't supposed to.
You have discovered what coffee is and that you really like the taste. So anytime mommy or daddy leaves the room and forgets to put their coffee away, you are right there to take a drink. Now we can't even put it way back on the counters because you have learned how to move the kitchen chair to it so you can reach.
You received your first haircut, and it didn't take long to need your second. You got it cut by one of mommy's best friends Janel. You did such a good job! I think the sucker helped ;)
You discovered that you enjoy football and tackling your brother. I believe one of your first words was "touchdown" where you would throw your hands in the air like the refs do to signal a touchdown. You also know what the NFL logo is and would say "football" whenever you saw it.

Some of your favorite things to eat are hotdogs, pickles, mandarin oranges, green beans, peas, chicken nuggets, and summer sausage & cheese sandwiches. You are a pretty good eater, but sometimes you want nothing to do with fruits. You don't have much of a sweet tooth and never seem to want to eat nummy snacks like vanilla wafers, teddy grahams, or cookies. However, you can't live without your fruit snacks and you cannot live without your ketchup, mustard & ranch!

Your favorite shows to watch are Mickey Mouse Club House, Imagination Movers, Mickey Mouse Club House, Spongebob, Mickey Mouse Club House, Jungle Junctions & Mickey Mouse Club House.

Right now you can't live without your Mickey Mouse stuffed animal, and the blanket that Grandma Fammie made you last year. You need to have it everywhere you go and you have no problems letting daddy and I know if we forgot to grab it for you.

Our bedtime routine consists of taking a bath at 7:45 ish, and then at 8:00 we will turn on a half hour episode of the Mickey Mouse Club House and watch that with all the lights off while you drink your milk. This is our 'relax' time with you to let you unwind before being laid down at 8:30. This is a constant routine and it is working for you so we are going to stick with it. At this point you sleep through the night and usually wake up around 7:30-8:00 (usually it depends on how noisy your big brother is when he is getting ready for school). When you do wake up in the morning, you never cry, you just sit and yell for "mommy" or "daddy" and sometimes even both.

You love you puppies and kitty. You know their names, although you insist on calling Lewis "Mickey" and you switch between calling the animals either "Rocky" or "Tito" every other week. You haven't learned between the two, so you just pick which ever name is suiting your personality that day and call them both by that name.

You talk quite often. You don't say too many sentences yet, but you know how to ask for what you want. You can say all the basics like Mommy, Daddy, Harley, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle, Auntie & Mickey. Some other words include:
"Mote" or "TV" when you want to watch TV.
"Set, hut" when you are about to run and tackle Harley or daddy.
"two nine" whenever you see numbers.
"ah snack" when you want a fruit snack.
"ah cheese" when you want mommy to take pictures of you.
"ride" when you sit on Tito's back and you want him to give you a ride.
"brrr cold" whenever we go outside and it's cold out.

You know almost all of your body parts; hair, head, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, boobies, belly button, tootsies & tongue. My favorite is to ask for your tongue because you will stick it out and say "mmmm".

You can count pretty well, daddy works with you quite often on this. You refuse to say "one" for some reason, but you will say all the rest. Sometimes it will go from "two" to "nine" because for whatever reason you really like those numbers.

When we go shopping, you are always a good boy. You enjoy looking around and pointing at things and trying to figure out what they are. In Walmart there is this huge cow poster by the dairy section, and every time we walk by it you say "cow". Your favorite thing is to get a Slim Jim at the end of our shopping trips and you will gnaw away at it on the way home.

Well, that pretty much sums it up for the second year of your life. Now lets get on with the third. I hope you have a wonderful year Kaden. Mommy, Daddy & Harley love you so very, very much. I can't wait until your 3rd birthday, so we can reflect back on this letter and see how much you have changed.

Kaden's 1st Birthday. February 19th, 2009.

Hoping that your day will be as special as you are.

Step 1 Complete

One of my news years resolutions was to get my butt back in shape...pre-kids and pre-stress I used to weight 125ish...and I would LOVE to get back into that range.
Well step #1 is complete. I have joined Curves for Woman and I have 3 of my close friends going with me. We help keep each other motivated and it has been helping a lot. I signed up for a year, so I am under contract and I am hoping that will help me stay with it!! After a year, I am hoping to move up to bigger and better places. My husband inspires to be a personal trainer, and he himself has lost over 100 pounds, so I will be his first client. We can go and work out together.
Now step #2 is to start eating better. I have the knowledge of eating right, but I don't have the restraint! I like food and I like eating lazy food...this is something that I need to work on! I can honestly say that I don't eat any different now than I did when I was 125, but I'm sure age, stress, etc., is playing a good role in changing my metabolism so my body isn't able to handle that kind of eating anymore :( I hate getting old!
