I think it's going to be a good year!

Wowsers, it's been a LONG time since I have even cracked open this webpage. Lots of updates going on...
First and foremost, Dustin's little brother Tyler has left this country to go and fight for this country. He is Afghanistan and I ask for everyone's prayers to bring him home safe to us. We love you Tyler!
Photography has been going great lately. I am doing my first wedding this summer and already have 3 booked for 2011. Can you believe that? And not a bit of advertising, just what friends of friends have heard and seen on my facebook. Amazing!
It's that time of year again when Harley says he wants to play baseball, we shell out $100, a lot of time, and a lot of proudness. This year however is different. This year Dustin was offered the volunteer position of Coach. After many many attempts to try and talk him into it (he is kinda shy) he said YES!! I, being the wife of the Coach, have taken on the Coordinator position. Basically I just stay in touch with parents to make sure they know everything they are supposed to know. So far it has been super fun, and for the first time we feel like a part of the 'parent's team'. Dustin and I have never really talked to the parents of the other kids, mainly because they have never tried to talk to us and we both feel like they look down upon us because we are so young. Solhiem is filled with little richy snobs who think they are better than everyone else, so I suppose it is fair to say that we judged these parents just like we thought they were judging us. Well I think both us, and them, have discovered our assumptions to be false. Dustin held the first practice this last Wednesday and he did wonderful. It felt really good to get in and mingle with the parents of the boys that Harley plays with at school. I think it's going to be a great summer.
Harley also rocked it at practice; catching pop flies, retuning double plays, and hitting like a pro. I think it's going to be a great summer.
Dustin and I both decided that we were giving up our summer sports (Softball & Volleyball). It took up too much of our time in the summers and occasionally would get in the way of Harley's baseball. So this year we are concentrating ONLY on Harley's baseball and football (come fall). We also decided that we needed something to do as a family. There is only so many parks and walks a person can take before they get bored, so we bought a boat. I think it's going to be a great summer.
Kaden is doing amazing. He is snapping out of his naughty stage for the most part, and has become quite the nice little polite boy. He is speaking sentences finally; telling us what he does and doesn't want is his favorite :) But never the less he is still a great kid, very polite, always saying please, thank you and excuse me. He makes me so happy. I can't complain about anything he really does, other than trying to shut the fridge door ON HIMSELF. Now we have to start working harder on this potty training and we will be set! I can't wait to take the little stinker out on the river. We have a very hard time getting him out of our boat while it's in the driveway, I can only imagine how difficult it will be to leave a sandbar. He is going to grow up a river rat child just like I did :) I think it's going to be a great summer.

Well, in conclusion, I think it's going to be a great summer :)

Funny Story

I've reached a mile stone in my life tonight. Here is why:
Harley and I were driving to Kohl's tonight because I wanted to try and find some nice dress shoes. The ones I have now are all summer shoes and I'm tired of my feet freezing. So on our way up there we turned on the stereo and i-pod. Well a good song came on and Harley started singing, so I started singing. Well, him and I were having too much fun and I started dancing the car. He immediately quit singing, looked at me, and said, "Mom, you are embarrassing me". WOW do I feel old. I guess I can't act like a 16 year old who just got their license and is out cruising around jamming to music anymore :(
Then we get to Kohl's and I decided to stroll through the purse aisle. I found one that I really really liked, so I grabbed it and proceeded to the shoe department. After finding nothing that I liked or were comfortable Harley said he wanted to go and look at the toys. So we headed over to that department and he found these stupid Bakugon toys (not sure if that is even spelt right), but they are like Pokemon and 'battle' with each other. Our conversation went a little something like this:
Harley: Mom can I get this?
Me: Don't you think you are a little old for stuff like that?
Harley: No!
Me: Harley, dad would kill me if I let you get those.
Harley: Mom, dad is already going to kill you for getting that purse.

PRICELESS! Kids are just too smart and witty these days!

Today Show

Dustin HATES my morning talk shows...and here is why:

This morning on The Today Show, they talked about bath toys and how bad of bacteria infected nastyness they are. So now I will be going on this rant and rave about throwing away all the tows that have holes in them and bleaching them at least once a week.
Last time I watched a show that talked about how the kitchen sink is worse than the toilet. And the tub is one of the most infected things in a house.
Dustin many times has given me crap for my need to disinfect and keep things sanitary. I watched a Oprah show where the went through objects in your house (kitchen sink, bathroom tub, shower, toilet, etc), and the tested everything to see how disgusting and full of germs it was, and the results turned me into a bleach fanatic. Well WATCH OUT Dustin, because today on the Today Show, they talked about the bath toys that your child uses and how they are full of germs. I do disinfect the toys, but probably only once a month. I think I am going to up that to once a week now. And all toys with the little hole in the bottom are going bye-bye.

Kaden's 2 Year Appt.

Well, today Dustin took Kaden in for his 2 year appointment. I was off by 2 inches for Kaden's height. WOW! He is 37 inches tall which puts him in the 95% for kids his age. HE IS BIG!! His weight puts him at 80%. He is following in Daddy's footsteps apparently.

Kaden's B-Day party was a lot of fun and he got a kick out of seeing Mickey Mouse EVERYWHERE!! Here are a few of the pictures from his special day.
