What was he thinking?

Oh what a beautiful day it is today!! We are going to my Mother-in-laws to grill burgers and let the kiddies play in the pool :)
Kaden is starting to talk a little more now. He says 'hi', 'baby', 'bee', 'ba' (for bath), and tries to say 'all done'. I also taught him where his ears are, and how to grab them and pull them out while filling his cheeks full of air in order to look more like the monkey he is :) Now I am working on me asking him 'where's mommy's heart' and him hugging himself. I also want to teach him that he is 'mama's baby'.

So Thursday night Dustin and I went outside to clean up the yard and get ready for bed, and we came across this...

Also, what the heck was my husband thinking when he bought this...

I am trying to diet, and this is my favorite gum! I just want to sit down with this whole bucket and eat it like food. It's like putting a alcoholic in a bar but saying he can't drink. What a jerk!! haha

Oh the Disappointment

I am extremely disappointed tonight as we missed an amazing baseball game. We had sand volleyball at the same time that Harley had baseball so weren't able to get there until the last half hour. As we were walking up, Harley was up to bat...*swing, crack*...HOMERUN. Only to find out that that wasn't the only thing we missed. He apparently had an amazing double play when he was in the outfield. He caught the ball and threw it to the 2nd baseman who in turn got the other kid out. DOUBLE PLAY!! And apparently it was AMAZING! One of the coaches came up to us and asked if we saw it, which regretfully we missed it, and went on about how great it was, and how the game was boring until that play, and how Harley left his feet and jumped in the air to catch it, and how everyone was standing and screaming and cheering, and how after that the team was pumped...and we missed it! We missed it! DAMN! Damn that kid is good...and he is all MINE! MUAHAHAHAHA! His other hit was also a good one, but only a double; still good for a 8 year old though! I have to give credit where credit is deserved though, Dustin has taught him everything he knows, so good job daddy!!
I think tonight might be our last year playing volleyball. Schedule conflicts are causing us to rely on grandparents to take him to games and I can't stand missing them. I think next year we will concentrate on Harley's sports because he will be starting football too, and eventually I'm sure he is going to want to play basketball. Also, before we know it Kaden will be starting T-Ball and I couldn't imagine what our schedule will be like then!!
Well, it's going to another busy weekend. Tomorrow is regular softball, Saturday is an all day softball tournament, Sunday we have a friend's college graduation to attend and then Harley also has another baseball game. WHEW!! On a good note, we don't have to worry about planing our grass seed in the backyard because we already got that done yesterday...WOOHOO!!

Kaden's Favorite

So it started a few weeks ago, after his bath we went to his room to get him dressed. Well, right next to his changing table is a window with the curtains that I bought for his room. They are Winnie the Pooh, and they have some butterflies and bees that buzz around on them. He found one of the little bees, and now he can't stop talking about it, literally. Every time we change a diaper or get dressed, he points to this little bee and says 'bee'. Of course it is a easy word, but it's just so darn cute I can't help brag about it. He loves this little guy with his whole heart. Just had to share that.

Also, my little guy is sick right now with a fever and runny nose :(

Update on Harley...When school let out we decided that he was old enough to have a small chore list and of course we would give him an allowance every week. We decided that for now $5 a week was enough for a 8 year old. Well I made up a spreadsheet and printed it out so he could post it on his bulletin board. He has a small list some of which include cleaning his room daily, feeding the dogs, and picking up poop (with a pooper scooper thingy of course). Twice a week he can surprise me by doing something small on his own and if I can't figure out what it is then the next day he can cross one of his chores off his list. Well, he is doing AMAZING. He wakes up almost every morning and before I even know he is up he is off and doing his chores. I am so proud of my lil' brat...haha! He even helped us do some yard work back a week ago!

Harley's Baseball Games

Harley is doing AMAZING at baseball. Last night he hit a triple; straight over center's head! It was so awesome. There is something warming in a mom's heart when she overhears people whispering "man that kid is good". I have a strong feeling that Harley is going to be very successful at any sport he plays. He is already quite amazing at football, basketball, and baseball. Now if we can just keep his academics up to par, he should have no problem getting a full ride to a great college down the road. I just pray that he never gets 'bored' with sports or gets mixed in with the wrong croud. I don't want to turn into a parent who forces sports on their kid; but when I know how good he and what he is capable of, how can I not if it would come to that? Especially when I have nothing but regrets for quitting basketball when I was in Jr. High. I am very proud of him!
This wasn't his triple, this was only a single. For once I actually got the opportunity to see him hit his triple instead of being behind the camera!
